The Importance of Down Time: Just Relax

Relaxation is important to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

Work hard, play hard.  That’s the American way, right?  While it’s great to have an endless supply of drive and motivation, it’s always possible to get too much of a good thing.  Down time and relaxation are extremely important to personal health, mentally and physically.

We all know the dangers of stress: high blood pressure, depression, ulcers, increased risk of heart disease, and god knows how many other ailments, so it’s important to take some time every day to turn off your brain, forget your worries and just RELAX.

Take a few minutes late at night, kick off your shoes, loosen your collar and turn on the TV (housed by a gorgeous Contempo Wall home entertainment center) for a bit.  Watch the images jump across the screen and forget for a few moments about the worries of the day.  Concentrate instead on getting lost in a story, laughing at a joke or just watching the gentle flicker of sound and image slowly pass by.
